ARMCO Pure Iron /
ARMCO Telar 57
Characteristics
- ARMCO Pure Iron:
- Purest iron ever produced, Fe = 99.85%
- Homogenous structure of pure ferrite containing exceptionally low level of carbon, oxygen and nitrogen, combined with a low incidence of non-metallic inclusions
- Compared with mild steels the high purity results in a number of advantages such as:
- Better resistance to corrosion, oxidation and chemical attack
- Excellent electrical and magnetic properties
- Excellent cold working properties
- Excellent weldability
- ARMCO Telar 57:
- Soft magnetic iron providing excellent resistance to magnetic aging effects
- High magnetic flux density
- Low coercive force

Applications
Iron base for low carbon, corrosion and acid resistant stainless steels, steel castings, and certain nickel base alloys
Requiring high induction levels during magnetisation, like D.C. relays, particle accelerator, electromagnets, pole shoes, magnet frames, permanent magnets for printing plates, radar, ABS brake systems, etc
Requiring high electric conductivity, like conductor rails, fuse wire, ground (earth) wire, clutches and couplings
For static and mobile MRI scanners, detectors, x-ray devices
Rolls, baskets, hooks, chains and pyrometer protecting tubes
For salt baths (hardening) and pickling Baths, and for sea water condensers (heat exchangers) made of Cu Ni 90/10 tubing; also often used in in cooling systems of power plants and in desalination plants
Used for weld repairs on galvanizing tanks
Iron base for low carbon, corrosion and acid resistant stainless steels, steel castings, and certain nickel base alloys
Gates and railings
To create hollow elements for necklace, bracelets and other jewelry
